Those Eyes
You may remember this little one from here. Check out those eyes! They are not digitally enhanced, my friends; they are God's gifts to her! Happy 1st birthday, Caroline.

That Look
You know the look-- the one that says, "You're not going to get me to smile even though I really want to." It's a typical look for my daughter these days.

Addie
There's that age--it's somewhere between 18 months and 2 1/2-- when children are excited to see the world and don't really understand the concept of standing/sitting in place for a picture. But this age also gives my camera the ability to see what's real-- a silly face, a typical expression, a "look..."
Addison didn't sit for a picture, but it didn't matter. This is her.
We shot a few inside...

...before attempting to go outside on a stormy day.

Moritz Fine Designs

You probably noticed a design change on this site recently. After working with Heather of Moritz Fine Designs on my logo and printing needs, I knew I wanted to work with her on my site redesign too!
In addition to mommy cards, photo cards, invitations, and birth announcements, Heather recently added blog design to her list of services. I can't say enough good things about working with Heather - she listened to exactly what I wanted, worked quickly, and her prices are more than reasonable.
If you are in the market for blog design, be sure to check out this site. And if you are in the market for any of the fun, customized stationary products that Heather offers, be sure to check out her site here.

Jacob
I remember taking my son to a photography studio when he was a year old. It was stressful. He'd always been an active toddler so the idea of standing in place on a 3 foot box that was covered by a white sheet was not his cup of tea. That's when I began exploring with my own camera-- allowing Jonah to run while I captured his true self through my lens.
I had the opportunity to do this with my adorable nephew recently.
A little exploring...
A little playing...
Almost there...
Bingo!

Old Friends & Prom Dates
I still remember our first conversation. It was my sophomore year of high school and Suzanne walked up to me after health class and said, "You don't look like Tiffany."
She was referring to Tiffany, the red haired singer from 1989. You remember her-- the one with the unique dance where she twisted her arms back and forth while singing, "I think we're alone now... There doesn't seem to be anyone around...."
Suzanne became a dear friend in high school. Dan was a friend and prom date. We don't need to discuss prom-- or my teal, sweetheart neckline, puffy sleeved dress.
Regardless, it was a complete honor to take their pictures last week. They have three darling kids, and although I know that time has aged us and we've obviously grown up a bit, it was good to see that they're still the same ol' Dan and Suzanne!
